N

ow in its 24th year, the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus features some of the First Coast area’s finest voices. Membership is made up of volunteers who come from all walks of life, sharing a spirit that can only come from singing choral music. The steadily growing roster also includes many professional musicians and skilled amateur performers.

Throughout its history, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra Chorus; has been a part of many landmark JSO occasions, including a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony for the Jacoby Symphony Hall inaugural concert. In November, 2005, the chorus participated with the orchestra in its first commercial recording.  The work selected for this historical recording was Orff's Carmina Burana. The 2008-2009 season includes Puccini’s last operatic masterpiece, Turandot, Mozart’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah. In a lighter vein, the chorus will perform in the Holiday Pops concert, always a favorite and an Elton John Plugged In concert.
